BGH climate targets validated

The Science Based Targets initiative is a collaboration between leading environmental and climate protection organisations such as the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI), CDP and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The SBTi is a global body enabling companies and financial institutions to set ambitious emissions reduction targets in line with the latest climate science. It's goal is to accelerate businesses across the world to support the global economy to halve emissions before 2030 and achieve net-zero before 2050.

We have now received confirmation from the SBTi that our submitted climate target is in line with the Paris Agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Our commitment

We commit to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2021 base year. We also commit to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions 25% within the same timeframe.

Our science-based target proves our commitment to building a sustainable economy, by doing not what is easy but what is necessary.
