Diploma thesis on ESR-electrode preparation

Preparing the electrodes is an essential work step for the subsequent remelting process in our ESR plants. As part of his diploma thesis carried out from June to November 2023, Mr Jianquan Li investigated the possibilities of process automation and optimisation in electrode preparation.

For BGH Edelstahlwerke GmbH, the results are a valuable basis for the future design of electrode preparation. During his work on site, the TU Dresden graduand Mr Li had the opportunity to evaluate the theoretical applicability of various joining processes in terms of their applicability at the BGH Edelstahlwerke GmbH steelworks.
