Steels for maximum performance

Tailor-made properties for your application

Optimised alloy concepts and modern production facilities guarantee the best material properties. Convince yourself of the advantages of our innovative premium hot and cold work steels DIECAST ONE, GLASS ONE, TOUGH ONE, PRESS ONE, CUT ONE and FORGE ONE.

Matched to the respective area of application, our BGH ONE premium tool steels enable long service lives for your tool. Improved analyses even make it possible to dispense with expensive ESR or PM grades, as the example of BGH TOUGH ONE shows.

Forming forces of up to 40 MN combined with block formats of up to 1600 mm (standard) and 1250 mm (ESR) form the basis for homogeneous microstructures and material properties across the entire workpiece cross-section.

BGH TOUGH ONE - price-performance winner in many application areas

Do you really need an expensive ESR or PM grade? The performance of BGH TOUGH ONE is on the same level compared to modern PM and ESR tool steels.
It offers the highest toughness values and heat resistance without sacrificing wear resistance.

Materials and areas of application

Shear and cold forming tools with long tool life and superior toughness

Its unique chemical analysis gives BGH CUT ONE superior toughness, wear resistance in the range of 1.3343 and the competitiveness of 1.2379.

The high cutting edge stability enables long tool life, whether as a shear blade, punching tool or pressing and forming tool.

Perfect for large and complex die casting moulds

The optimised chemical analysis in combination with ESR technology and an EFS heat treatment of BGH DIECAST ONE significantly improves the hot strength and toughness of the material.
At the same time, the resistance to heat checking increases and the service life of your mould improves significantly.

For extrusion tools with a longer service life

Where standard grades such as 1.2343 or 1.2367 reach their limits, BGH TOUGH ONE sets standards!

BGH TOUGH ONE is a modified version of 1.2343 with, among other things, a higher molybdenum content. It offers toughness values and high-temperature strength that come close to those of ESR materials without compromising wear resistance.

Press tools with improved wear resistance and heat resistance

BGH PRESS ONE features improved wear resistance as well as increased heat resistance compared to standard materials such as DIN 1.2344. A special heat treatment processes also enables improved toughness for maximum service life of pressing tools.

Premium steel for the highest demands in glass processing

BGH GLASS ONE is a specially developed hot-work steel with excellent polishability, high hardness and outstanding wear and corrosion resistance. Thanks to optimised manufacturing, it surpasses standard grades in purity and homogeneity – without the need for expensive ESU grades.
Ideal for highly stressed glass moulds with the highest demands on surface quality and temperature resistance.

Forging tools with enhanced thermal conductivity and high toughness

BGH FORGE ONE is a Cr-Mo-V alloyed hot work steel that sets new standards. It offers improved toughness values and optimized thermal conductivity compared to standard hot work steels, without compromising wear resistance.
The superior combination of toughness and temperature management minimizes the risk of thermal fatigue and heat checking cracks, resulting in significantly longer service life for your forging tools.
