2.4066 / Alloy 200 / Ni99,2 / N02200

Properties
2.4066 (Nickel 200) is commercially pure wrought nickel with a face-centred cubic structure that remains austenitic from absolute zero up to the melting point, so no phase transformation occurs over the entire temperature range. Nickel 200 is a ferromagnetic material with high electrical and thermal conductivity. The material offers excellent resistance to caustic alkalis, neutral and alkaline salt solutions, natural and distilled water, and reducing media. Resistance is limited in strongly oxidizing media such as nitric acid. Nickel 200 is readily weldable and easily cold formed; strength can be increased by cold working.
For continuous service above approx. 300 °C, the low-carbon grade 2.4068 (Nickel 201) is recommended to prevent embrittlement by intergranular carbon.
Nickel 200 has a density of 8.9 g/cm³.

Delivery Condition
- Wire annealed, bright drawn or drawn (coils, barrels, on spools up to 3.0 mm possible)
- Straightened bars
- Alternative delivery conditions on request

Application Area
Nickel 200 is used wherever high corrosion resistance or reliable electrical performance is required — mainly in the chemical and process industries, food and pharmaceutical production, electrical engineering and hydrogen technology. Typical examples include vessels, piping, heat exchangers and valves for caustic soda and caustic potash service, equipment for chlorine and halogen processing, electrical and electronic components such as lead wires, contacts and battery components, and electrodes for hydrogen production by water electrolysis.
