Premium alloys for modern heating
Our BGH THERM resistance alloys offer exceptional resistance to scale build-up and are designed for demanding operating temperatures of up to 1400 °C.
They are characterised by a high electrical resistivity, which enables the efficient conversion of the electrical energy supplied into heat. The heat generated can then be transferred to the surrounding environment via the surface of the element.

High-performance heating resistance alloys – tested, reliable, durable
BGH FecroTHERM shows a 35% increase in service life at 1400 °C compared with the reference material we examined.
At regular intervals, the service life of our heating wires is tested under thermal cycling conditions up to an element temperature of 1400 °C. To this end, cyclic resistance heating tests are carried out on our in-house heating wire test bench and compared with the service life of commercially available reference materials in the respective material category.
The results showed that BGH FecroTHERM had a 35% longer service life at 1400 °C compared with the reference material we tested.
In addition, we make use of isothermal ageing tests or real-life field tests in our own industrial heat treatment facilities to develop customer-focused and application-specific solutions.
To ensure the consistently high quality of our products, rigorous in-process monitoring and comprehensive testing of the finished products are an integral part of our standards.
These include, among other things, the grade purity test at the end of the production process, a thorough inspection of surface quality and the assessment of mechanical properties.
A key requirement in the field of heating resistance wires is the reliable setting of the resistance per metre specified by the customer. To this end, the electrical resistance values are checked several times throughout the production process and adjusted as necessary.
These standard tests are supplemented by metallographic analyses, which enable a precise assessment of the material microstructure and grain size.
Through the continuous development of our heating resistance alloys, we aim to achieve optimal workability whilst ensuring a long service life.
